It has just been announced that Dame Edna will be making her pantomime debut later this year, playing the "Saviour of London" in "Dick Whittington" at the New Wimbledon Theatre in London. How gorgeous!
Dame Edna had this to say about the news:
"I am delighted to be making my pantomime debut and starring as the Saviour of London in Dick Whittington. Being a stranger to pantomime I am looking forward to all the fun and frolics and meeting all of you lovely little possums of London, but most of all, the thought of guiding Dick Whittington to become Lord Mayor of London thrills me. I did the exact same thing for Boris Johnson not long ago."
All of Edna's possums (and wombles!) will be celebrating the fact that they can look forward to a gorgeous glittering gigastar Chrissie this year in Wimbledon, and will be clamouring for tickets to see the world's favourite housewife, talkshow host, and international phenomenon as she treads the boards in London once more.
